Doug, without knowing all the details of the strategy you describe, I'd suspect that, with the bear market well-advanced and so many of those "happy stupid" valuations compressed, and prices in many instances now quite unhappy if still entirely stupid, as ever, forever and ever, amen, that returns on shorting QQQ and getting long on... whatever... would decrease... eventually, the QQQ and its "better" components would probably start to trade in line with each other... at some point a resumed bull market or even a major bear market rally, especially among the YHOOs and JNPRs and other silly stocks, could chop it up, no?
