Joshua,

I also appreciate your concern, but like uf, I honestly doubt this thread will fall apart or resort to finger pointing and blame placing.

I don't recall ever reading that ____ will double by next Tuesday, but I do recall Merlin expressing concern about SEBL's valuation...now at a 463 PE BTW.

Numerous times we've been asked to "recommend" and each time we've said we don't do that...and won't.

Instead of fist pounding, the thread regulars have been treated to our mistakes, our bad timing, our margin calls, our mistakes with leaps, and so on.

This thread is very, very good at research, at keeping up with and intrepreting news and technical developments that impact the markets our Gs & Ks are in, and sharing same. But the investment decision is left to the individual to make.

If the market is going to become irrational on the downside, just remember that it was also irrational on the upside.

Chaz

I understand that the Gilder thread degenerated into an ugly situation earlier this year, but consider the differences in our approaches.

I often wonder if those who only see Gilder as a stock picker understand him very well. Gilder's not an CNBC-type analyst. He thinks about broad civilizational shifts, not just short term equity charts. This guy will go down in history as one of the great visionaries of American history. To get an idea of him, you have to read a range of his thought: Men and Marriage, Wealth and Poverty, Life After Television. That newsletter is just part of the story.
