Re Statement of ONIS that Nortel does not have 10Gbps metro product. This would seem to contradict that statement.

James,

I recall seeing a Del'Oro report that showed a pie diagram indicating Nortel's major market share of metro equipment, followed by Ciena, with a minor piece held by ONIS.

I don't believe Nortel breaks out its metro and long haul optical networking sales into sub categories of DWDM and SONET. It is not in their interest to do so from a marketing perspective.

As a result, it is difficult to compare respective market shares of DWDM equipment offered by Ciena and ONIS with Sonet and DWDM offered by Nortel.

I believe my statement was to the effect that Ciena is the technology leader in DWDM equipment. I still stand by that.
