lml - what do you think of Solon's remarks?
(FWIW I think Pariente was extremely biased in her remarks.)

Another fun thread for serious people!

I keep hearing how The Supreme Court of Florida today were so insightful and refreshing. I thought they were embarassing and unworthy. I also thought their questions were designed to kill time, and to prevent articulate lawyers from creating a justifiably respected public impression. I thought the justice questions were wasteful and foolish, and that they exposed either a lack of intelligence, or a lack of integrity. In short, I was disgusted.

I don't mind arrogance and smugness; But in people that can't string their thoughts into a coherent paragraph--it simply doesn't wash.

This had to be one of the most embarassing exhibitions I have witnessed in years. And the whole world was watching. The presenting lawyers were all brilliant in their individual ways, and they all bit their tongues until the blood flowed. What a disgrace! Seven fools: drunk, dishonest, or stupid? Who could tell?
