They reported that the machine is stopping, on average, after every 61 ballots

Does it stop on the double punched ballots too?

Why didn't they sort them....

Seems pretty dang stupid to me. Ask the democratic canvassing boards!

Every so often I feel the need to make this point, everyone please forgive me if you have already read it -

If they only manually recount ones which are have no vote for President, this will unfairly favor Gore, because he can't lose any votes by double counting.

They need to manually recount all the ballots, including the ones that have votes already, and determine whether any of the ones with votes have a SECOND, partial vote so those can be disqualified. Then Gore, and Bush, can lose votes they already have.

That's fairer. Although I don't want any of them to be recounted, at least this would be fairer.
