JDS Uniphase (JDSU) from $155 to $100, and SDL (SDLI) from $410 to $270

This sounds kind of silly. If the JDSU target is 100, then the SDLI target should be 380, not 270. Unless there is some implication of the merger not going through. Homeboy needs a calculator.

SSB's going to have to eat its words. John Roth mentions optical components several times in this morning's presentation. Component shortages are real. . . wish I had more. . . Raman, still a fine art, not where silicon industry is today . . . if I could own them, I would. . . optics is critical (to NGN). . . "

Also of note, Roth said a year ago they estimated the industry would grow 14% to 15% and and that NT would grow 6% faster than that. By the end of 2000 they'll be up 40%, 2X over expectations. Carriers will also beat their targets by a similar number. They under estimate. It's traditional.

I'll post Q&A later today.
