Flats, I've handled a lot of divorces, and I can tell you that in my experience conservative men don't shirk their responsibilities to their children. I have only known a few conservatives who got divorced, and more of them got custody than their ex-wives. Conservatives tend to stay married. The ones who did get divorced were willing to pay whatever it took to make sure that the children were provided for, made their payments on time, and got on with the rest of their responsiblities. The men who scream about child support are the men who scream about personal responsibities of all varieties. Their irresponsibility towards their children is no different than their irresponsibility towards every relationship in their lives, including work. Methinks I smell a hint of sexism in your post. I have never, ever, ever met ONE woman who was willing to pay child support to a father who had custody.
