<<I have a good friend that is a broker with Merrill who had put more than half his net worth in near term calls. Short of a miracle, they will expire worthless. He is extremely distraught to say the least. Crazy. New home -canceled.

Well, all my calls are now March or further. I have JDSU march calls, and a mix of rmbs may calls......some icge march calls....atml may calls....and some aol leaps in non-trading account. All I can hope for is that we have enough time for this whole mess to end and at least get a slight rally by february. If not, well, I, like alot of others I guess, will be screwed. Time will tell....question to whomever may like to take a stab at this....I've benn looking at my calls...my JDSU calls are march 110's...my atml calls are may 12.50's....they are pretty close in price, within a buck. I look at the jdsu calls and see that they are $50 OTM with march expiry. ATML's have ywo more months and are pretty damned close to being ITM as we speak. Certainly JDSU probably has more potential for an explosive move....but atml is a great value stock, seems to be under accumulation and has found a bottom. It has held very steady during this naz mass as of late. Their numbers were very good as well. Part of me is questioning whether I should sell the jdsu march 110's ( for a nice loss of course ) and pick up some more of the atml may 12.50's....any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks keith

pinhi, I can't understand anyone with a half brain would gamble like that with trades that can end up being worth nothing in a very short time frame in market like this one. Just plain Dumb. While I feel for your friend, he got what we ask for. Furthermore now that I'm on the soap box, if you can't stand to lose money, shouldn't be in the market in the first place.
