Flat to down...

For two months I've seen so many people on so many threads say they expect(ed) some kind of Election/Year-end rally....Damned near everyone. Most of the same people also expect a big swoon in the early part of next year. I'm truly impressed at how widely held these two scenarios are.

In my gut...I think the market is not going to follow the above popular opinion. I think, if we bleed through this period with yet ANOTHER round of unfulfilled gambles, the small investor will be sufficiently cowed to stay out of the Houses'/Brokers'/Analysts'/Fed's/Funds' way.

After, what eight?, years of boom...I think the pendulum is going to swing back far enough to make most small guys forget how empowering it felt to ride DELL up out of the mire.

Patiently,
-Darin
