Just received an e-mail from a friend.....stated his concerns about decreasing Gross Margins for SSTI...haven't looked at the financials lately...

Doesn't seem like your friend has looked at the financials lately either.

On a quarterly basis, gross margins have increased 7 quarters in a row. Needless to say, gross margins on a TTM basis would also show increases.

Regards,

Scott

Looking at the last earnings release, Bing gave very specific forward guidance, about increasing GM and operating margins in both 4Q, 1Q 2001, and the entire year of 2001...

Also, given the massive leaps in EPS this year, without looking at past financials, I would think GMs and operating margins have improved (significantly) during that time...

So, maybe I answered my own questions, but again, comments are welcome..am I missing anything here?

Gross margins:

Q1 1999: 7%
Q2 1999: 22%
Q3 1999: 26%
Q1 2000: 41%
Q2 2000: 45%
Q3 2000: 45%

So certainly the curve is flattening. In theory, newer products (higher density sizes, etc) should boost margins.
