RE:"I'm a bit curious as to why Anand backed off on spec, after the big effort with the DDR review"

Maybe he realized that Intel was setting us up for SPEC?
I'm still wondering why Quake 3 was the first benchmark in his review...

<Daniel: Personally, I like Anand. I was a little worried when he did this Rambus puff piece a while back when the Rambus PR flacks were apparently making the rounds...>

Well, I could easily see him get somewhat overwhelmed by rambus folks stopping by his lab. ;)

Personally, I think Anand is a hard-working, honest guy. I believe he always does his best to represent the truth (as he sees it).

My biggest beef with him is that I have never seen him own up to any of the many mistakes I have seen him make over the years. I fully believe he doesn't skew results on purpose, but sometimes something goes wrong. And when it does, he doesn't quite have the courage to admit it. That's too bad, imho.

(I could mention other sites/people that don't admit their blunders, of course, so he is hardly alone).

<Pretty impressive for somebody still in high school.>

I thought he just started college?
