Are those the same city dwellers who punch the wrong holes, vote for two candidates, and impregnate chads instead of punching them? Sophisticated my a$$!

Well, that is a fanciful way to put it. Who do you think lives in the suburbs? Most of the cities have emptied out into the suburbs, leaving either the very rich or the fairly poor behind. Of course, in the last decade or two there has been some repopulation by the middle, but it has been slow going, and in many cities the net population transfer has been outgoing. In any event, the poor and working class far outnumber the affluent in the cities, and so your "urban sophisticates" are mainly homies, not college grads. And, of course, the suburbanites mainly voted for Bush.........

"Sophisticated city dwellers just don't buy into the GOP nonsense."

You are referring to the "sophisticated" people who can't punch a voting card, right? The main difference between city dwellers and country folks is that the morals of the city folks are in the trash (comparativley). Hence they vote democratic. I think I have read that most CEO's (which generally live in large cities) supported Bush.

I would also suggest that more city dwellers expect the government to support them and their causes, where country folks can take care of their own lives. Hence more city votes for dems.

I do applaud your effort to make it look like the smart people of this country vote demo. Shows you have a good sense of humor.
