Here's a card AMD should be playing: AMD should very strongly encourage (i.e., bribe, if necessary) OEMs to include 256M of PC133 in their systems instead of 128M. If all the Athlon systems in a store have 256M standard, the customers will start demanding it in the Intel systems.

And the price will rise by $200 to $400. Raising the bar on memory is as advantageous to AMD as raising the bar on MHz.

Just thought of a better way: "Buy an AMD Athlon system by December 25'th and AMD will include an extra 128M* of memory for free (*64M on Duron systems). See your participating retailer for details."
