JimC, what matters is the bottom line.

The Treo is no more efficient than the PJB. It runs about as long on the same battery capacity. (Less, actually, but as I said, that may be within a margin of error.)

No, I didn't consider amplification circuit usage (what the hell is that? I could consider amplifier efficiency...), hard disk drive power needs or display power drain. However, I think it is reasonable to assume that these are LOWER than in the previous products, because of the trends in hard disk and display power consumption.

You can argue all day about theoretical advantages of MicroOS. Unless those are translated into the device actually running longer on the same battery capacity, then all that is meaningless.
