Its clear (to me at least) that Intel must have been at some huge level of complacency the past few years to be coming out with its current round of products.

Another way to look at it is that Athlon performed so well that a normal execution on the part of Intel looks like a "huge level of complacency" in a competitive environment.

Yes, as it relates to the Athlon....but then you have Itanium and the chipsets and it appears that the complacency was on several levels.

Most importantly, it continues to give AMD some breathing room to gain more market share.
