In fairness I think blacks are not so much rejecting the Republican message as they are holding onto the Dems because of fear. Lets face it, the extremists in the GOP want to eliminate blacks. The extremists in the Democrat Party want to eliminate everyone, innocent children amongst them. At least they are equal opportunity extremists. (grin)

Your turn to answer a question for me:

Over the years, more African-Americans have risen from lower class to middle class. I think we can both agree on that fact.

However, according to exit polls from Nov. 7, some 93% of black Americans voted for Gore rather than Bush.

The question is why? You tell me. As more people realize the American dream, shouldn't that help the Republicans and lead to the election of more conservatives?

Many on this board would have us believe that minorities vote for Democrats because they "want something for nothing." That is hogwash.

I would offer this: There was a clear difference this year between the Democratic and Republican platforms in terms of aid to education ($100 billion Gore plan, $15 billion Bush plan), school vouchers, hate crimes legislation, support for unions, pension plan protection, on and on.

Here's a novel concept: Maybe minorities shunned Bush not because of his personality, but because of The Issues.
