Hehe, I think their position looked a lot better 2 months ago, before every major effort in the company was delayed and there was no p4, but that's just my opinion.

Though I still agree that the sky isn't falling, there are a lot of things going right for the company, and we knew p4 was coming, and it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.

The difference is simple and it's key. AMD has the respect of all the computer hobbiests now.. you know.. the guys everyone asks when buying a computer. Most of the IT guys at corporations (that I know) have Athlons at home (or at the very least know Athlon is solid and the P4 is 'sub-optimal').

Very good points. Any visit to Hardware Site BBSs will reveal disproportionate percentage of Athon users or people asking about buying Athlon / Duron based products.
