Yesterday one of the judges posed a hypothetical question to one of Bushs lawyers, something ilke "If the canvasing board receives ballots which are completed correctly (or successfully) and the chad is dimpled, is the board required to count it?" The obvious answer was that the instruction ballot clearly states "take care that the chad is removed" so those ballots were not successfully completed by the standards set forth in the instruction ballot and the question is ambiguous. The lawyer gave some mealy mouth reply.
