tippet- the majority of abortions are not performed on mentally ill or retarded women -- that's plain BS -- I never said the were. I was responding to this very few mothers are incapable of giving a child what they really need ... Clearly not the case. There are many, many who can't and their hundreds of thousands of children are in foster care. Would you like some numbers on foster care placement? Is foster care one of the "welfare state" programs you'd like to eliminate? Having trouble with the "form of compulsory support that encourages no responsibility" issue? For just once I'd like to someone who opposes abortion and social safety net programs to really think it through that opposition to its' logical conclusion.
