Great Talk w/Robert!

Question #1: With reference to bundling Treo/MP2000 in PCs, is this imminent?

Response #1: Yes! Imminent is a good word. We are working with multiple PC manufacturers in either the production or discussion stages. They are looking to position their PCs as music libraries using the Treo or MP2000 due to their greater memory, portability, consumer friendly aspects, etc. They see this as a replacement for piles of CDs. The tremendous interest at Comdex was due to the reasons stated as well as audio quality, battery life, and overall features.

Question #2: Can you guesstimate initial order volume for these products?

Response #2: Well, we see this as a very big product that will come about very quickly. Products will be shipped in Q1. We initially thought mid 6 figures but now, maybe 7 figures!

Question #3: How much pre-CES news can we expect?

Response #3: DataPlay is going to mount a pre-launch. Other companies that we are working with will pre-launch as well. We will be hooked in on the timing and content of these news releases and we will be getting our name out before the public as much as we can.

Question #4: What percentage of new products that are coming out are MP2000, Treo, or DataPlay based?

Response #4: Each one has its own place. The OEMs love these platforms. Each has its own niche. The OEMs have decided that there is enough content coming available now to warrant production and promotion of these new devices.

He stated finally that things are coming together rapidly, that they are extremely busy, that the response to e.Digital's products has been overwhelming and, that there is nothing out on the market presently that can compare. We are positioned to take advantage of the coming rapid growth in this market.

IMHO, after a seemingly long wait, CES will bring Edig the recognition it deserves, but more importantly, the huge contracts and revenues that will propel it to the next level...and the next...and the next!

JimC, why is it that you don't ask those who are touting the "power saving capabilities" of MicroOS to look up the power usage based upon specific components?

We are to accept the pro arguments without question. Every con argument requires proof. You won't ever apply your own rules to your own arguments.

(Generally, you have no arguments, in any case, other than infantile insults. I'm pleasingly shocked to find you even made an attempt to delve into the technology, albiet no deeper than "is so". I guess you ran out of pages in your "kindergarten insults" dictionary...)

The fact remains - whatever "power saving" capabilities MicroOS may have, EDIG has been unable to translate that into a consumer benefit. In fact, all they have managed to do is come up with a player that doesn't last as long on a battery charge than the player it's replacing. The Treo product is inferior, in this respect, to the product it replaces.

Consumers EXPECT better battery life out of newer products - not less! When I replaced my Nikon 950 with a Nikon 990, the difference in battery life was astounding. It is clear why by simply touching the LCD display - it ran HOT on the old camera - the new one is cool to the touch.

Physically smaller hard disks (as is in the Treo vs. the PJB) have less mass, and require less power. I don't need to look it up. I can guar-an-tee that it is less. Even without any special "power saving capabilities" the Treo should last longer on a charge than the PJB. But it doesn't. EDIG has failed to meet consumer expectations.

It DOESN'T MATTER if some component in the Treo sucks more juice than in the PJB (though I doubt very much that that is the case) and if MicroOS somehow magically brought the battery usage back to the level of the PJB. SO WHAT? They've demonstrated their stupidity in imprudent component selection. They've failed to produce a consumer benefit. That is the bottom line.

Again, this is NOT moving forward - it is moving backward.

But, that doesn't surprise me. Look at the stock chart.
