I think DeMone's losing it. Now Microsoft is part of the conspiracy to make the P4 look bad. Someone out to inform DeMone (and Intel, for that matter) that the x86 ISA was never considered particularly elegant by anybody; about all that it's got going for it is backward compatibility. Why Microsoft, which has plenty of trouble keeping its own schedule from slipping into oblivion, was supposed to spend a lot of effort to make the P4 look good, when it's going to be a small fraction of the installed base for quite some time, is a conundrum.
