Perhaps vote fraud was the implied allegation?

I don't see how you read fraud into those statements.

Since you have used punch cards in Texas (as have I) you may be familiar with the practice of stuffing foriegn objects into the votamatic under the opponent's hole (like broken toothpicks, rolled up bits of paper, or pencil points). That can cause fraudulent dimpled chads in the opponents column. I can't see a reason to for someone to intentionally engineer a dimple for their own candidate instead of outright punching. Perhaps you have a slant on the fraud theory?
