Just a theory.

Multiple punching of ballots, in a stack, presumably for Gore? but the punch does not go through and leaves only a dimple?

Is that right? I don't want the whiney one saying I'm critising the wrong theory here.

First of all someone would have to get ahold of the ballots, and a tool to make the dimple. It would have to be a lot more heavy duty than a stylus, what? an icepick? Now the dimple couldn't be too deep or the chad would punch out. Several empty ballots are layed out out on a table for each voter to choose from. Any dimple that was too noticable or especially a missing chad would get complaints from the prospective voters and poll workers, especially the one who lays out ballots and would likely feel anything if the dimple was deep. There might even be complaints from some voters who noticed, and they would tell their telemarketers, who would tell the lawyers. I grade it a very weak theory, perhaps you can bolster it with a scenario sneakier than I have proposed?
Perhaps you are talking about fraud after the vote but before the count? I see that as having most of the same problems, plus it needs to be coordinated with the county officials and deputies that guard and open the boxes. All of this must occur while the Republican watchers are taking a powder? My, my.
