Ha! I agree. Memories are precious!

Let me give you a very genuine opinion about "dimples". I think a serious attempt to push a chad would likely do more than caress it. Of course, I don't know. I think a chad that has been caressed may well represent an intent to vote. I think it equally as likely that it represents someone changing their mind. Many people do decide to vote none of the above. That is in the record. Sometimes they vote it immediately; Sometimes they change their minds.

I don't know which is more likely when one sees a chad that has been caressed. I think it is clear that there is more than one possible intention, and that the doubt should throw it out.

I believe that a broken chad has been punched hard enough to indicate a firm impulse, and should probably be counted.

The real problem, IMO, is not with interrogating the chads, it is about interrogating only the chads of some voters, and applying the results of those interrogations to ALL voters. Not fair, Not right. Individuals should not be concerned with Bush or Gore. They should be concerned with individuals. These are the rights that are being abused. Not the rights of George or Al. Just my opinion...

What if you were one of the voters that dimpled your ballot, then decided at the last minute not to vote for Al Gore, and then your vote was later counted for Gore...

How would you feel? Would you be disenfranchised, too?
