tippet- I've done what you suggest as a field director for an inner-city infant-maternal child health program. I've also had to make foster care referrals (for the children of those seriously mentally ill and cognitively deficient women.) I've also had find money for women who couldn't scrape together the $200+ for an abortion. I've done a variety of things to keep families together on a day in day out basis. I'm well aware of the problems. I'm also well aware that women need options rather than high minded, moral plattitudes about what other people think other people should do if they care.
