Hi opalapril,

I'm not sure I agree with his prefeace that says rhetoric during a campaign is different after an aelection.

Especially when the public as polled says they smell a bad odor of partisan manipulationcoming out of Florida.I don't think that the participation of the Supreme Court in the same state will sugar coat this "Will of the People Mandate".

If it was will of the people we are shooting for the second recount would have finished this last week. At least that is
my read on it and it looks like I've got a lot of company.

Gore is damaged goods regardless of outcome.Bush may well be lucky to leave this filth behind him and just have to be a good governor in the great state of Texas. If one looks at quality of life issues - Who needs this crap.

It appears only Mr Gore does.If I am so unfortunate as to watch his lieing face for another 4 years - I will survive. I will also enjoy watching the embarassingly ineffective grid lock freeze his agenda - cause he put the ice cubes in himself.

I do think dubya has a better shot at building consensus - mostly as a result of his actions.

No intent to stoke partisan fevor. That is just how this republican Texan sees it.

Bob

so only THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN knows it's a close race and the whole world don't know?
Both sides will do EXACTLY the same it they exchange the position.
Do you REALLY think if any team won a Superbrawl and EVEN the instant replay proves the empire made a mistaken call, the winning team will want to rematch? It ain't gonna happen in the real world.
