Best Lawyers? Then who was that balding, Lispy voiced, smirky Democrat lawyer that was on about 20 minutes ago?
It was a Something-Stein guy. He wouldn't scare me, I laughed.

Ah...grasshopper. You still cannot walk upon the rice paper without tearing its beauty. The Florida Supreme Court decision had less to do with the quality of attorneys and much more to do with partisanship. Some who CAN walk across the rice paper have said that possibly 20% of the Gore popular vote would not have been able to vote - for anyone, if the accelerated immagration program had not been pumped by Big Al's Phallic Phantasy. And what of felons nationwide, and lies told to elderly people that they would be left eating cat food should Gore not win? And of course, the Kreplach Kommies, who aren't even sure what nation they owe their allegience to? Yes, Big Al's Phallic Phantasy marches upward and Big Al has a bunghole fever tonight, ladies and gentlemen. Soccer moms and candystriper high school girls, Eagle Scouts too will learn to take it Al's way.

I am sure many people do not know the consequences when they vote for their particular candidate. But as for this election the choice was as clear as the election for Mayor in NYC in 1993. If Guilani had not won the election for Mayor, this stock market boom might never have happened. Many of the large brokerage houses were planning to move from the city and the city was in chaos. Giulani immediately struck deals with the brokerage houses to keep Wall Street together and he also brought the city back to prominence in the financial world.

When I read these posts arguing about who should have won or who should win, everyone should remember that the investment banks allowed the Internet to grow with venture capital. Without this capital, the Internet and forums like Silicon Invester would not exist. The Internet would have continued to be a collection of bulletin boards scattered throughout the country. So, if you are profited from this stock market boom whether you have traded stocks or invested in a web company , this election was very important to you.

Unlike in 1993 when an election brought a boom to a city and the market , it looks like if the hand count reverses the election totals in Florida the exact opposite will happen. The country is now going to be divided and I am afraid the market won't be saved this time. The spending policies that I have read from the Gore campaign will most likely cripple an already slowing economy. Greenspan cannot lower rates if inflation starts to accelerate and therefore we could be at the mercy of an inflationary economy. I am not sure many of you remember those days and I admit I was too young to absorb the economic conditions at the time but I have asked others about those days in the late 1970's. The late 70's the financial crisis was the worst since the Great Depression and it is not a coincidence that a Democrat was in the White House.

As we have seen from this election, Gore is not going to make deals with the Republicans with his budget. He is going to try to push his misguided agenda through and if this happens, it will take years before this market will recover.

I know alot of people have different opinions of this election but considering all of us own stocks and trade stocks, we all should be united in the hope for a strong market. Even traders that are short in the market need the market to have some strength, you can't short a company if it no longer exists. I am afraid when we look back at these times and this election, we will wish all of this had never happened. Sometimes voters choose the correct candidate like in 1993 in NYC and other times voters are so divided they allow the wrong candidate to find a way to be victorious. Unfortunately, we will all have to live with the consequences.
