Susan, he turned it down because it was not Gore's to give. Bush knew that it was against FLA law to recount the votes not challenged within 72 hours. Gore was pulling a public trick to suck Bush into accepting ALL of the votes that Gore was seeking while he watched with feigned dismay as the challenge for a full recount failed in the courts. tp

Bush had his chance. Still can't understand WHY he turned it down????

Is it really that hard to figure out? If you received an A on a school paper would you return the paper to the professor and ask her to regrade it?

If you won a coin toss would you protest and ask for a second coin toss in hopes of verifying your first win? If you lost the coin toss would you?

If you lost a coin toss two times in a row would it be fair to ask for a new coin and a new toss? If you then won the toss on the third try with a coin that was a little heavier on one side than the other and that was known to come up tails more frequently than heads and you could call the toss and you won the third toss would you feel you had fairly won the coin toss?
