Re: The Democrats have no qualms about stealing the election by judging these unfairly

I think you may be underestimating the quality of the people doing the recounts - and the care with which they watch each other.

If Bush loses Florida it will be due the very poor strategy on his part of not calling for recounts state wide. Recounts are always done in close elections. They are quite common. Just because he was a few votes ahead in an election that was a statistical tie doesn't mean it would have been fair for him to freeze that result and deny the other side the opportunity for as accurate a count as is possible. Which is what he tried to do. Especially in an election where he was behind in the popular vote.

Even a machine recount statewide would likely pick up quite a few votes for Bush, and that can easily be done before the new deadline. Don't give up hope yet - Gore hasn't even picked up all that many votes even in the current recount.

Regards,

Dan

But you are left with disputed ballots. The Democrats have no qualms about stealing the election by judging these unfairly. Bush is just never going to operate on this level, expecting the Republican canvassing board members to steal the election for him.

In the very first recount, they found counting errors in 59 out of 67 counties.....remember this was machine recounting, not hand counting....and the errors in a majority of these counties favored Bush. Who was trying to steal which election?

If my read of the man is correct, he will rather lose than do that.

Did you even bother to read the article I posted re the Bush family? Yes, Joe, they are saints among men.

." If my read of the man is correct, he will rather lose than do that."

I think your read is incorrect. Baker was making threats on throwing this process to the FL legislature last night. I think it is win at all costs for GWB as I am not sure this guy would go another round in 4 years. I am convinced this guy is not too excited about being President and probably realizes he lacks the capabilities anyway. GWB would rather hang on his ranch and swig whiskey IMO. Nonetheless, I am starting to think whoever the winner is here....will really be the loser.
