There seems to be a lot of emotion in some of the comments on the topic of analysts, Full Disclosure, etc. It seems misplaced to me. I also didn't see much negative emotion when the analysts and sales folks were pushing stocks to the moon, much to a momentum-driven investing-public's delight.

Technical traders can avoid all that noise. It is virtually impossible for any market participant to trade in size and not show up on the chart.

And technical trading is what the thread topic is all about...

PS: I've met a number of the regulators in Canada and your description of Arthur Levitt rings familiar.

Susan, Yeah, I agree with you and I think that Institutions are going to still get inside story anyway. I mean look at the Tobacco companies! The law never stopped them from ripping off the public by creating an addiction and not to mention illiness and deaths they caused. All Tobacco CEOs right in front of the congress lied to the whole nation saying that nicotine was not addictive!! CEOs stood one after another in front of congress and lied!! Companies don't care! Morris Berman in his book titled "The Twilight of American Culture" and in his first chapter, the first line read: America has become storefront for a corporate mob. I think that sums it up.
