Heidi, >"Error in loading DLL".< I would reinstall
TC2000 from the CD. I don't know if you should uninstall it
first. TC2000 support can tell you that.

The non-working SI links must have something to do with
IE5.5. I have the IE5.5 CD and have reinstalled over the
existing version with success.

I would try these things first before doing a complete
reinstall. That's always the easy way out for support personnel. :)

Before you do anything you might want to try running a utility like Norton Windoctor and Norton DiskDoctor.

Hi Heidi,
If your CD is more than 3 or 4 months old you don't want to uninstall because the update data it will need won't go back far enough and you'll need to wait for a new CD. You might try running:

C:\Program Files\TC2000\TC2000VersionUpgrade.exe

And if you're lucky it will update the DLL giving you a problem.

Best,
Steve

hi heidi

re "I'm now getting a message when I try to update my TC2000 charts 'Error in loading DLL'"....

i see that you have received a number of very good responses. i hope that they will help fix you up.

you might also try searching via file manager for the .dll file that is specifically mentioned in the error message. (this is assuming that the message says something more than what you have posted.) if your search produces more than one of the specified .dll's, then we should take steps to remove one by way of renaming the extension. it is very common for two or more versions of the same .dll to reside on a system, and this can be a source of great conflict.

my other suggestion is for you to run the system file checker if you have win98. this may find corruption and repair it for you.

good luck

:)
