I find the whole situation appalling, beginning when Gore decided to go looking for votes after Florida performed its statewide recount after the election. But, he did say he would do "anything" to win.

I hope people reject Democrats outright in future elections, no matter what office they are seeking.

I just hope that when the LOCAL elections come up people voting for their canvassing board members REMEMBER WHAT WAS DONE.

I am sure that there will be lots of effects for lots of public officials in Florida come the next election. The canvassing board members are hardly going to be on the top of anyone's concerted voter hit list.

Notably Jeb, Katherine and the legislature are going to be under more pressure. At the very least I think there will be an increased polarization, with the minority districts likely more militantly against Republicans for what is increasingly looking like their attempts to subvert the electoral process. They have a lot of ground to make up after the last couple of weeks.

While Katherine Harris may be the darling of national Republicans, her past will not likely be enough to overcome the coalition of the state-wide opposition she has created by her partisan slavishness.
