In Dade county they are counting dimpled ballots that were taken out of group computer sorted for a vote for no one. At first glance that sounds logical but it has a major flaw.
While this correctly adds to each candidates count (provided you agree dimpled ballots should count) it forgets one important issue. Votes for two candidates should be excluded and there are sure to be many many ballots that have one dimple and one hole clearly punched.....these can not be computer sorted and can and will be easily overlooked or not reviewed at all as there is no time to review all the ballots. These can not be sorted by the computer into a neat smaller pile as the computer would see this as a vote for one candidate......so this will ultimately prove as a toll by the Bush supporters and strong evidence against the recount. What should and needs to be done is a careful hand recount of all the votes in all 67 counties with special attention to those 25 counties using the hole punch machines. This should be done by a group of university experts that understands statistics and logic and what it means when you change the original sample.

The Supreme Court should have required this approach not a recount only in 3 heavy democratic counties......with the decision at hand the Republicans have a good case to claim that the Supreme court is nothing more than a group of Democratic supporters and will ultimately with the control of the Florida Legislature win the day.
