OT- Truth,

The country is divided. Half the people agree with you ... I'm afraid that the other half does not.

All I was trying to say in addressing Yogi's political statement was that given the current situation, you can try to have a more scientific approach to vote counting. Indeed, I am sure that in the next election we will probably touch screens to increase a counter in a computer. 1960s technology has created a huge mess in this election. It is hard to believe that we are in such a political mess with people fighting all over the place because of this ... when we could have said two weeks ago "Gee, what a darn close election this one was ... X won by a few dozen votes."

My prediction: democrats will come short of the needed votes to overturn W's advantage and George will be winner early next week. Then, Swift reports awesome results for B2, NG makes new highs ... and the radar screen focuses on the current energy crisis ... a reaaally cold winter will not hurt either!

Be optimistic ... it is free.

Regards,
fp

TRUE Election Chatter-

My brother said he saw a map of the US showing how each county voted in the presidential election. It was color coded. He said you really had to look to find a Gore county- they were in the overwhelming minority and their land area was much smaller than the Bush counties. But of course, they were the urban counties containing most of the population.

OTOH, my brother lives in Texas, so maybe this is just a tall tale.

Larry

P.S. I'm beginning to understand the wisdom of the founding fathers of the US of A who created this thing called the "electoral college". Still, I'd be willing to do away with the electoral college if we would implement a literacy test that required some knowledge of the principles of federalism upon which this country was founded.
