Thats the rules of the game. Any other measure, popular vote, number of counties won, sq. miles of counties one, sticking a finger in the wind, etc is irrelevant. So, to talk about the popular vote and allege it means anything is typical of Gore supporters. BTW, even the Bore himself denounced this yesterday - of course only after he has had Daley, Boies, Leiberman, et al out there the last 2 weeks mentioning it. but now he says, and I paraphrase "some of my supporters have talked about me winning the popular vote - but they shouldn't as it does not matter" - WHAT A HYPOCRITE The only poor loser is Gore - who has filed court case after court case, until he found one court to support him. Who has asked for selective manual recounts in 3 highly partisan counties, under Democratic control. And who now, when it is clear even that won't give him enough votes, is asking for those counties to CHANGE THE RULES of what counts as a vote. pretty sad when you set a target you have to achieve - 931 votes - to overtake a candidate - then you have to keep changing the rules to even try to achieve that target So, now you want to criticize the republicans and independents (like myself) for fighting back, and complaining about the potential theft of this election? Please. perhaps people are just so fed up of seeing our rights trampled for the last 8 years, of seeing the Democrats ignore the laws of our country, of scandal after scandal in the oval office - who can forget Monica, Travelgate, the definition of "IS", Buddhist temples, "No CONTROLLING Legal Authority", etc, etc. perhaps people are sick and tired of liberal judges legislating from the bench, of overstepping their bounds and writing law instead of upholding it. Perhaps it is time to take back OUR country - to stop the barbarians at the gate from flaunting the rule of law. In closing, don't just listen to my words - here is what the NY Post had to say about the coup in tallahssee:nypost.com
