Maybe there is a cause and effect here? There was every reason to suspect an ASP of more than $100 for Q3, but he didn't factor in VIA's proven track record of screwing over AMD.

Maybe he was a lot more realistic than most of us here on SI. When I construct my Excel models, I keep coming up with higher ASP, only to be "surprised" by the ASP actually reported by AMD.

I think the idea we need to keep in mind is that AMD is trying to gain market share, and to change the status quo, you need to make an offer the OEMs can't refuse.
