Nadine, It is time for Bush to call for lowering of the tone of the rhetoric but I don't expect him to show leadership. He is a figurehead who hides behind his not-so-smart advisers.

It is the Democrats who changed the rules of the game. When machines didn't suit you then it was a hand recount. How can you possibly state that when 6 months earlier the same people refused to hand recount an election when the margin was 11 votes that they are not frauds ? They told the black lady who lost by 11 votes that there rules allowed for a hand recount only if the margin was single digits. Oh of course she was running as a Republican.
Let's see you try to squirm out of that.

Indeed, the GOPwingers have been acting under one charge: Whatever it takes, don't let a recount total show that Gore has more votes than Bush. Thus, all of the distractions.

The clear fact is this. A candidate, especially when down only 327 votes out of six million cast, has a fair and honorable right to reqest a recount. That's all Gore has done, exercise a right to ask for a recount and the same right which has been provided to every other candidate whose run for office in America.

If anything has been proven by this, it's that George W. Bush is a "divider," and not a "uniter." And the fuzzy math continues as GOPwinger pundit after GOPwinger pundit has come onto America's air waves complaining about recount after recount, this in the face of the clearcut reality Gore has requested only one recount and only in four Florida counties, as prescribed by Florida law which stipulates a candidate, within 72 hours after election day, can request a handcount.

Do any GOPwingers among you find it at all ironic that Bush has requested hand recounts in specific Republican-dominated counties regarding the military absentee ballots? And does anyone find it ironic that six Floridian Republican-dominated counties, on their own, resorted to some form of a manual recount in order to attain results favorable to Bush?

Again, Gore has done nothing wrong but to exercise his rights as a candidate under Florida law. So matter how the truth gets painted in the aftermath, it'll be this clear fact which will remain.
