Precisely my point and that's a result of the last 8 years of "I feel your pain" and "It takes a village" education.
How did our ancestors ever get along with a hickory stick and a one room school house. Their graduates could follow an arrow and read and write. I had two grandmothers who taught under those circumstances and their students learned the three R's. They also didn't pass if they didn't learn.
