My recent research

studies (A. Higginbotham and O. Hamisbadferyu, 1997, Journal of Econometrics; I.L Kilmark and Etmakers, 1998, Journal of Business Sales) suggests that sales are notoriously slow for at least two whole weeks after Thanksgiving because of the relatively large amounts of tetrazine present in thanksgiving turkey. Tetrazine is known to have a long-lasting tranquilizing effect (note the need for sleep after thanksgiving lunch .... and for some the whole weekend). Research reports show that salesmen find it impossible to sell because they are too sleepy for at least two weeks after thanksgiving.

As a result of this analysis, I conjecture that traders will be too sleepy to sell next week and thus we have reached a market bottom.

Somebody needs to be optimistic. Why not me?
