Nadine,

Ask yourself the question:

If the ballots are recounted 5 times (by hand) will they produce the same result each time?

1) Yes
2) No
3) I don't know

Nadine...precisely...I think both parties had preconceived notions as to how things were to turn out...the repubs trashed manual counts without standards and the Gore people believed they had the votes...EACH PARTY WOULD DO WHATEVER IT TOOK TO ARRIVE AT THEIR OBJECTIVE....classic politics...the election boards and courts, merely serving as puppets for the greater end...and if you for one minute believe the parties are acting in the interest of the American people....well, you know

Nadine,
<<If that was what they objected to,
they had opportunities to correct it, and they
chose not to use them.>>
What and when are you referring to? The Republicans brought suit in Florida Court to set manual recount standards and they were refused by the Democratic Court. That was last week. However, the Democrats have stedfastly rejected republican attempts to rid Florida of the punch card ballots(the source of the problem)...since 1984 or 1985 as I recall...
