From CNN In a setback for the Gore campaign, officials in Florida's Miami-Dade County abruptly called off a hand recount of presidential ballots, saying they can't complete it by Sunday's deadline. Instead, the three-member board voted unanimously to use their original returns compiled immediately after the November 7 election. The action reverses a decision made earlier in the day when the panel said it would limit the county recount to 10,750 "undervotes" -- ballots on which no vote was registered by counting machines. Now, no additional recounts will be added. While I favor a recount [I preferred a manual recount of all 67 counties more than a week ago,] it is my belief that most people are honest people and trying to provide best results under such a tight race circumstance.
