<<You can include the supposed "mistakes" in Palm Beach, put what about the few thousand people who turned away in the 15 minutes before the polls closed in the 10 counties in the central time zone in the panhandle.>>
Somehow Republicans keep spinning that early call their way. Actually, it could easily have been the case that people who supported Gore went home or decided to vote for Nader, since their guy had allegedly already won the election. And this could have been the case across the country. It isn't as easy as that.

<< In two years the republicans will pick up more house seats and in four years the republicans likely will wins.>>
I doubt this, especially if Bush is in the WH. However, I certainly don't have the clairvoyance to say how things will come down in two or four years. Anything is possible.

<ot>Hi Jay - sometimes, people simply don't appreciate the people who are in the hot seat. From CNN

In a setback for the Gore campaign, officials in
Florida's Miami-Dade County abruptly called off a
hand recount of presidential ballots, saying they
can't complete it by Sunday's deadline. Instead,
the three-member board voted unanimously to use
their original returns compiled immediately after
the November 7 election. The action reverses a
decision made earlier in the day when the panel
said it would limit the county recount to 10,750
"undervotes" -- ballots on which no vote was
registered by counting machines. Now, no
additional recounts will be added.

While I favor a recount [I preferred a manual recount of all 67 counties more than a week ago,] it is my belief that most people are honest people and trying to provide best results under such a tight race circumstance. I ve become slant [in appearance anyway] against Gov Bush camp simply b/c all the negative spin Sec Baker has perpetrated in public. I may even register a dem next time just to spite them spinmeister!

best, Bosco

In the last 15 minutes I noted a strong improvement in the trend, enough to indicate to me that we may be turning here. In any event I got back into BRCM at $120-1/8. Still waiting for few others (SNDK getting there) to get in "buying range".

In edit: Well, that was not a good reading. The trend is going up, again, bailed out of BRCM with $1 loss ($119.125) and will watch to see if we do get a rally or not. By now, the tick and trend should have shown some signs.
