re: "Good people" indeed. Maybe "skilled manipulators" would be a better label than "good people." And these days, it looks like the Democrats really do have the more skilled manipulators.

Good people was the term that folks were using to describe the people that Bush would surround himself with. It seems that you and Jim think it is a virtue to hire bad lawyers, as you appear to think Bush has done. What about bad negotiators, when he is dealing with other countries? Since most everyone of importance in Washington is a lawyer, I think choosing good lawyers might be considered a positive for a President.

And by the way, I know lots of lawyers, and most of them are "good people". Probably about the same percentage as the general population. But it's much easier to regurgitate the stereotype. But you and Jim agree, and you must be right, because McMannis is the most "fair" person you will ever meet. He told me so.
