You didn't hurt my soft spot. Alger Hiss was a spy, the Rosenbergs were too.

My point was this: How many totally innocent people have to be ruined and never recover from that ruination to justify nailing the Hiss and Rosenberg types?

In the words of Ray Donavan(Reagan Labor Secy) after being acquitted: " Now can someone tell me where I can go to get my reputation back?"

You can add to the list of spies that will go from the end of the Venona Secrets to today. But history has not judged McCarthy on whether or not there were spies, it has judged him on his techniques. Hence, I don't expect that we'll be changing the meaning of McCarthyism based on the Venona Secrets.

BTW, did you actually make it all the way through that "gagger", i.e., The Venona Secrets?
