Except for scalping, now is not the time for short or long. a) low volume pre-holiday days are notorious. Some very nimble folks will make out ok, but many will just be whipsawed back and forth. Today's intraday pattern looks very familiar to me. Theres a reason why most pros go home early I think! b) At least within the last 15 minutes, the range is compressing and volume dropping off. With less liquidity today, anyone with some size could spark something. Probably positioning on the opposite side of any initial move here would be a safer bet... Personally, I chose to take the rest of the day off! Certainly on Monday there will be some movement, some speed.
