>>OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Christian Coalition admitted Friday that it was mistaken when it accused Sen. Lewis Long, D-Glenpool, in its Voter Guide of voting to repeal laws against sodomy and bestiality.

Long narrowly lost his bid for re- election to Republican Nancy Riley of Tulsa in last week's general election.

The veteran senator believes the erroneous Voter Guide prepared by the Christian Coalition and distributed by local churches may have cost him the election.

"I only lost by about 270 votes, so I would only have had to turn less than 150 around to win," he said.

He also said he has no intention of dropping a libel suit he has filed against the Oklahoma Christian Coalition.

Long said an apology from Christian Coalition Executive Director Ken Wood makes no difference.

Wood's letter of apology states: "I want to apologize to you and your family for the fact that the 2000 Christian Coalition Voter Guide contained an error in reporting your position on a vote involving the decriminalization of sodomy and bestiality. We honestly thought you liked to grope the goat and diddle the dingo. We're truly sorry voters inferred that you endorsed wallaby wanking and poodle plooking. Please forgive us for implying that badger boffing and mule molesting were part of your platform. We regret our suggestion that you're a seal spanking turtle burglar. And please tell your wife that we never really believed that story about her drunken night in Mexico with the circus".<<

Well, I made up that last part but you get the general idea. One thing I'm gonna miss if Gore wins is the return of the off-the-wall religious right like Robertson, Falwell, Swaggart, Bakker, et al. I say it's about time we took the blow jobs out of the White House and put 'em back in the hands (or pants) of t.v. evangelists where they belong.
