there is room for those that trade against the trend, as i've termed the Waldo experience...and with success.

Your points are well taken and encouraged...these are trades for the advanced, and have mentioned in the past something i'm taking at a snail's pace from the dark side, working with highly liquid stocks,,,the csco's...so much "easier" from the long side and understand the argument for futures trading without uptick rule, availability of shares to short...

For the majority and those not quick enuf to act, safety for the sidelines until a definitive change, a change that will induce buying. Probably a fundamental event, earnings updbeat, maybe a change in bias, interest rate cut. Last year, we had a bubble type situation which may be considered an exception as the rate hikes didn't do a thing as the analysts kept pumping us "up" amongst other pyramid type action. Others who try to time the bottom, I wish them the very best of success...i've been lucky a couple times, but more often than not, stopped out.

long positions are there as well and never so clear as i've often called them out,,,on failure they become another opp for short...

i am not opposed to trading the trend whatsoever. Right now, my GAME PLAN suggests to wait patiently for potential setups for long trade and will continue to learn another direction, as very evident when waldo ceases, short opportunity opens.

the chameleon in me has yet to click, the glide in your stride,,dip in your hip,,,the mojo thang...
