I have the UTMOST respect for Alan Greenspan and never have questioned him. Nevertheless, I wonder if he'll need to ease to calm the markets as this election thing seems to be spinning out of control. On the other hand, maybe wringing out this market excess is just what the doctor ordered for a sustained new leg up and economic soft landing. But if things get too far out of kilter, people will stop buying and cause a downward spiral. Daryll40

The decline has been exaggerated by the political uncertaintly. We will get a big technical bounce perhaps starting friday but certainly on monday if recounts leave Bush ahead. I am expecting Gore to concede as soon as this becomes obvious which it is becoming more so each hour. Appeals in Florida just sustained Miamis right to stop counting. Palm Beach will produce a few hundered tops. We are down to 1200 in Broward and tomorrow morning they will decide re: pregnant chads. The theory seems to be if other votes are punched thru a pregnant chad will not be considered. If Broward goes along with Palm its over. If not someone will win by 20 votes. But I do expect more absentee ballots to be continued so Bush should end up on sunday with a 300-500 vote lead. Then the dems will abandon Gore. It will not be pretty to see. Gore will never get the nomination again just like nixon. Oh shit.
