I was working on the same thing...only I find it very hard to figure out where the nasdaq will bottom...

I think 20-30% of nasdaq listed stocks will go bust.
- the gains from investments game will end..
- think margins continue to shrink and fast
- cap ex spending will not only have a lower growth rate I expect in many sectors CAP EX spending will shrink.
- wealth effect will turn into a broke effect with personal debt levels really hurting people
- consumer spending will slow greatly....inflation will also help to kill buying power.
- vendor financing defaults will hit some companies.
- junk bonds defaults will hurt many
- insider selling won't stop
- people will begin to pull money out of mutual fund
- Big companies like AT&T and BTY will continue to dumb their investments in order to pay down their massive debts.

The next 5 years will be very hard. I think that it won't just be a recession, but a depression. They high hopes and dreams of early retirement and easy riches will be crushed by the realization that many don't have their house in order and are plainly screwed. Debt/asset ratio's will get out of control...can you say personal bankruptcy (forced liquidations) will smash the economy.

I think NASDAQ will hit 1500 for sure with in a year. 1100 or sub 1000 has a real chance. The bounces will get smaller and smaller going forward.
