COVD IR responds:

Currently our management team is meeting to pull together a comprehensive
plan for the business. In light of recent information, they want to be
comfortable with the business plan before communicating it to the public.
Management plans to present the plan in the coming weeks, but has not set a
specific date. Management wants to take well planned actions and therefore
is being very diligent in their meetings.

We still see demand for our service.

There are many items affecting the DSL industry.
The most significant is the ability of some of the companies that resell DSL
services to pay their bills in a timely manner. Covad intends to focus
future business on our more stable partners who provide a majority of our
new orders today.

As many of the ISPs that resell our services are private, they do not have
any obligation to provide us visibility into their financial situation.
Therefore, there is always the possibility that more of our resellers could
find themselves in similar situations in the future. With the objective of
moving more of our business to our stronger partners such as AT&T,
Earthlink, Prodigy, SBC and XO Communications, these smaller ISPs will
become a decreasing percentage of our overall business.
