Giving thanks to this thread

This month marks the one-year anniversary since my husband and I began reading this thread. We've read every post since mid-Nov 99 and many that came before. I'm grateful to Bruce Brown, who told me about this thread when I was taking the first online Rule Maker's course at TMF. He also recommended that I read The Gorilla Game. A simple suggestion that has had life-changing impact on our investment strategy! During the past year, we've come to know and appreciate the posters on the thread. I'd like to thank each of you for the generous sharing of your experience, technical expertise, investing wisdom, and wonderful humor.

Someone recently posted that you get more from the thread when you actively participate. In the past, I haven't felt "qualified" to contribute. I've now read all 4 Geoffrey Moore books plus The Innovator's Dilemma, and have spent many hours studying potential G&K candidates as well as certified gorillas, I'm ready to plunge in. It's time to give back to this thread because we've benefited richly from the wide range of discussions that go far beyond just analyzing companies.

Even though our portfolio returns look rather pitiful right now, we're confident and unshaken. We KNOW the strength of the companies we've invested in and we're following the rules of the game (MOST of the time!). The people on this thread have provided wonderful encouragement and support to us - and, I'm sure, to many, many others who lurk here. You are truly a unique, special group and we are most thankful to have found you!

And Uncle Frank, thank YOU for starting this thread and maintaining the high standards that set it apart from every other thread that I've encountered - anywhere on the Internet.
